Capability 02 · Secondary wedge

The follow-up cadence pool shops can't run consistently.

Quote sent on Monday, cricket sounds on Friday, lead gone by next Tuesday. Every shop owner knows the pattern. Nobody runs the disciplined four-touch follow-up because there is always a more urgent fire. AI runs it consistently, on every quote, in your tone of voice.

The 24h/3d/7d/14d cadence.

Quote sent. Clock starts.

Touch 1 · 24 hours

Confirmation

SMS plus email: "Just confirming you got the quote we sent yesterday for [pool description]. Any questions?" Low-friction, no pressure. Most leads who are going to engage will engage here.

Touch 2 · 3 days

Practical check-in

"Wanted to check in on the [service type] quote. Did anything specific stand out, or were there parts that didn't fit what you needed?" This converts well because the answer reveals what's blocking the close. Often it's something fixable (start date, payment cadence, scope tweak).

Touch 3 · 7 days

Reframe with social proof

"Most of our [residential weekly / commercial / repair] customers in [their ZIP/area] start with [X common service tier] and adjust from there. Want me to scope a starter version that's lower-commitment to begin?" Often a 7-day silence means sticker shock. This reframes without discounting.

Touch 4 · 14 days

Honest close

"I'd rather you tell me directly if it's not the right fit, so I can stop following up. What's the read on your end?" Final touch is a graceful exit ramp. Either it converts (about 18-25% of touch-4 responses do, in our data) or it confirms a pass (which lets the AI mark the lead inactive cleanly).

Stops on conversion. Stops on opt-out. Stops on explicit pass. Otherwise runs to completion. No fifth message, no nagging, no annoyance.

Why most shops never run this consistently.

Three reasons. First, it requires remembering. Day 14 is two weeks after the quote went out, and by then the office is dealing with whatever this week's fires are. Second, it requires writing each message in the moment, which feels like work no one wants. Third, the conversion rate from any individual follow-up touch is low-double-digit, which feels not worth the effort. Aggregated across 100 quotes per month, it's a meaningful chunk of your annual revenue.

AI doesn't get tired of the cadence. It runs touch 4 the same way on quote 247 of the year as it ran on quote 1.
